KIDS HELPING KIDS

We worked very hard the first year to identify specific needs and help fill in the gaps when kids are in need of something as in backpacks, water bottles, hygiene products, food and more. This need goes beyond tangible items as well…we knew the kids in our middle school needed some extra encouragement after the covid pandemonic, and also with the influx of social media influencing our kids as well…so we met with the principal at our local middle school and asked if we would be able to paint encouraging murals in the entrance of our school. They agreed to let us move forward with this project and it was such a rewarding project not only for us but for the students, families, and teachers at our school. We keep in contact with the school counselors, school nurses, and building administrators to find out exactly what they are in need of and purchase items that kids are truly need rather than just guessing. This is sometimes more work, but we know this is the most impactful way to help. We also work with other local non-profit organizations to identify families that need help purchasing Christmas gifts for their kids. We want to ensure that everyone will wake up on Christmas morning with presents to open and that all of their basic needs are cared for as well. With your help this is something we are looking forward to doing on a larger scale in the years to come.

Stay tuned for all of the exciting things that are in store.

OUR STORY

KIDS WHO CARE was started by sisters Chloe and Isabel, and their friend/neighbor, Ella. On a cold weekend in March of 2022 the girls spent time baking and thought it would be fun to sell their baked goods to friends and family in our neighborhood. That first day they came home with $22 and we started brainstorming about some kind things they could do with the money that they had made. The girls decided the best way to give back would be to help kids in our own community who might need food, clothing, hygiene products, or just some extra encouragement.

As the year went on both Chloe and Isabel were able to set up a KIDS WHO CARE booth at local events. They raised close to $500.00 and collected hundreds of hygiene products, backpacks, and water bottles to donate to our local school and to kids in our community. They were also able to purchase Christmas gifts and non-perishable food items for kids in need with the money they raised as well. This has been a great year of growth and learning and we can’t wait to invite more people to join our kindness movement and help more kids in even greater ways.

We would love for you to join us on this journey. If you are local get involved: we will post updates regarding community service projects or fundraisers that we’re working on, or you can always donate online as Kids Who Care is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. If you’ve already been part of the KIDS WHO CARE journey by donating hygiene products, food, or funds we want to say THANK YOU. We appreciate you more than you know, and we’re excited about all of the wonderful ways we are going to be able to reach out and help kids in our school, our community and beyond.
